Today, there are many different types of windows to choose from and which you choose depends on your style, budget, and airflow desire. Here are some of the most common window types we offer:

Double Hung Window

Double-Hung Window

Double-hung windows are the most common type of window. They are built with two sashes and allow either the top or the bottom to slide open vertically. (Single-hung windows only allow the bottom.)

Casement Window

Casement Window

These windows are single sash windows that are hinged and use a crank to push them open. They can be hinged on either the left or right side and open outward.

Awning Window

Awning Window

Awning windows are often horizontally rectangular and built with a hinge at the top of the window. They open outward (like an awning) and can be installed alongside a regular window.

Picture Window

Picture Window

This type of window doesn’t open and instead, allows for a stationary view of the outside world. Because they don’t open, picture windows can be built in virtually any shape.

Transom Window

Transom Window

Transom windows are built above horizontal beams and are often used for decorative purposes. These can be built above a door, at the top of a doorway, above a window, and more.

Sliding Window

Slider Window

Slider windows are commonly built with two sashes and slide along a track to open. They can feature either one operating side or two and are often used for their contemporary style.

Fixed Window

Stationary Window

Like picture windows, stationary windows don’t open and instead, can be built in virtually any shape for an outside view. These windows often feature larger frames than picture windows.

Bay Window

Bay or Bow Window

Bay and bow windows both protrude out and extend the amount of interior space. These windows generally feature three to five panels, with a mix of stationary and operational.
